One Scarborough shop. Three decades of ice.
Ice Boy began in the 1990s when our founder, Rob Bould, set out to solve a problem nobody else would: sourcing reliable bulk ice for his family's catering business.
He started with a single restaurant-style ice machine, one delivery truck, and a few freezers. The catering company was his only customer. Then word got around, and by the time Rob brought in a commercial bagger, Ice Boy had become a real business — not a side project.
Rob is no longer with us. The Marchiori family carried the shop forward — Greg Marchiori runs it as President today, and Danny Marchiori leads the carving floor. We still answer the phone the way Rob did. Service first.
Today the facility at 605 Middlefield Rd #1, Scarborough, ON M1V 2Z1 runs seven days a week and produces around 50 tons of food-grade ice every day. We've scaled from one restaurant's ice supply to backyard weddings, gala centrepieces, and 50,000-guest outdoor festivals — across three decades of Scarborough work.
Ice production is energy-hungry. We've been working on that for years.
Our machines are water-cooled, and the waste heat from the condensers is routed back into a heat-exchanger that we use elsewhere in the shop instead of venting it. It's a small thing that compounds — every kWh we don't buy is one we don't bill to the planet either.
We also partner with like-minded suppliers wherever we can. If that part of your event matters to you, ask. We'll be straight about what is and isn't in scope.

People who actually answer the phone.

The questions we get most.
- How much ice do I need?
- One 12kg bag per 10 guests is a solid baseline. More for open bars, warm weather, or long events. Call and we'll give you a specific number based on your event.
- Do you deliver?
- Yes — across GTA Zone 1 (delivery included) and Zone 2 (flat $75 + HST surcharge). Minimum order for delivery is 10 × 12kg bags.
- What's the lead time for a custom sculpture?
- 14 days is standard. Rush orders are available — call to confirm.
- Is a drip tray included with sculptures?
- Yes. Every sculpture order includes the correct drip tray automatically — no separate charge.
- Can I pick up instead of having it delivered?
- Absolutely. Pickup at 605 Middlefield Rd #1, Scarborough. No minimum for pickup orders.
Have an ice day.
